Are you looking for colic cures to relief your baby's pain? At this moment there is no fixed colic treatment yet. Every baby responds different to various treatments.
Many colic home remedies work well for one baby but may not help another baby at all. And on top of that many doctors have different opinions on how to treat infant colic.
Here are some baby colic cures that may help your baby and are worth a try and others that should be avoided because they do more harm than good.
Hypoallergenic milk.
Some parents belief that hypoallergenic milk will relieve the symptoms of their baby’s colic. But infants with a milk protein allergy have other symptoms like hives, wheezing, rhinitis, vomiting, eczema, and anaphylaxis. Because this hypoallergenic-labelled infant formulas cost at least 3 times more than standard formulas they should only be used for infants with well-defined clinical indications.
Soy or Lactose free formula.
Manufacturers of soy-based, lactose-free formulas claim that soy or lactose free formula helps to relief the symptoms of colic, constipation, diarrhea, and allergies.
Many parents choose soy-based formulas for colic because they belief they are more easily digested.
AAP ()advices to give soy-based formula only to infants when medically necessary.
Enfamil Gentlease is an infant formula with reduced lactose (about 1/5 the lactose of a full lactose, routine, milk-based formula) and broken-down proteins. This milk-based blend is similar to breast milk and promises to ease your baby's fussiness and gas pain in 24 hours.
Mothers diet.
Eliminating certain foods from mother’s diet such as tea, coffee, spicy food may help reduce baby colic symptoms. Other moms find that cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, beans, onions and garlic aggravate colic. Try to reintroduce these foods one by one and you may be able to find out which foods are upsetting your baby’s tummy.

Swaddling blanket.
Swaddling a baby is still tradition in countries in the middle-east and getting more popular in western countries because it has been proved to make babies sleep longer and deeper. Wrapping your baby in a Baby Swaddling Blanket will make him feel warm and secure. Tight bundling may sooth fussy infants and reduce colic and the amount of crying. Swaddling your baby is one of the baby colic cures most doctors recommend.
Swaddling may also prevent SIDS because there are no loose blankets that can cover baby’s face.
Colic hold.
With the colic hold you place your baby facedown along your forearm, while baby's face rests on your hand. Babies love to be carried this way and the new view will distract them from their colic pain.
Chiropractic to help colic.
One of the theories of what causes colic is that the baby's spine becomes misaligned during vaginal delivery. Many chiropractors gently align the baby's spine by adjustments to help relieve colic.
Chiropractic treatment for colic is natural but it can be harmful if done incorrectly.
White noise.
White noise is something we hear all the time, it is around us but we rarely pay any attention to it. Like the noise of a vacuum cleaner, dishwasher or the hum of a fan. Baby colic cures like white noise sometimes have amazing results and is definitely worth trying.
Anything that creates a monotonous hum, and makes you sleepy will do. To save you from putting on the dishwasher or vacuuming for hours when your baby has one of his crying spells, you can buy a ready made inexpensive white noise cd.
Burping.
Letting your baby burp during and after feeding is the best way to get rid of baby gas. Simply put your baby up on your shoulder, with her head on your shoulder and give her some firm pats on the back. Some babies burp easy and with others you may need to try different burping techniques like laying face down on your knee or sitting upright and bouncing on your knee.
Change in feeding techniques.
Colic in breastfed infants can be due to latching on incorrectly. For effective breastfeeding the baby must draw sufficient breast tissue in its mouth and not just suck on the nipple. Let your baby finish the first breast before offering the second breast. This way your baby will not only drink the foremilk low in fat and calories but also the much richer hind milk. This foremilk is also higher in lactose and digesting of this lactose or milk sugar will create more infant gas.

Baby fart aerobics.
Many parents have found Jini Patel Thompson's BABY FART AEROBICS DVD very helpful in treating their baby’s colic problems. The Baby Fart Aerobics routine helps your baby to release any trapped gas or stool on an ongoing basis, your baby will no longer have any colic attacks!
On this DVD she will show you other baby colic cures like burping techniques and craniosacral therapy.
Infant massage.

Movement to relax and quiet your baby.
Walking with your baby and gently bouncing him over your shoulder may help relax your babies. Put your baby in a stroller and go for a walk or go for a drive with your baby in the car seat. You have to try different things because what works for one baby doesn’t work for another.
Crib vibrator.
The crib vibrator is a successful non-invasive treatment for reducing symptoms of infant colic. An electrical vibrating unit is attached to the crib and simulates the feeling of going for a car ride. Test results proved that 85% of all babies stopped crying in an average of 4 minutes using this medical device. A sound generator attaches to the side railing of the crib and generates a white noise that simulates the wind sound from a moving car.
Vibrating crib mattress.
Never heard of a vibrating crib mattress, well Sealy produced the Sealy Tender Vibes Soothing Mattress
. Its gentle vibrations soothe baby to sleep and the soothing vibrations gradually turn off as baby falls asleep. If you are looking for a quality crib mattress that will also help your colicky infant to sleep I recommend you try the Sealy Vibrating Mattress.
For some reasons colic is very rare in developing nations. Possibly because in these countries mothers carry their babies with them all the time and feed them on demand.
This is of course impossible in developed countries where lots of women have to work to support their family.
But even carrying your baby in a baby sling for three hours a day can make a difference and prevent a colic attack.
For ages people have been playing and singing soothing music to their baby to help them sleep. Have we forgotten the power of a mothers voice calming her baby?
Caring for a baby with colic can be very stressful. If you feel overwhelmed or desperate because you can't calm your baby, leave your baby in the safety of it's crib and ask for help.
